I. PALAK DIL
The largest lake in Mizoram and the most spectacular among the lakes in Mizoram. It is located near Phura and Tongkolong (Tokalo) villages in Siaha District. There are many migratory species of birds. The area is covered with thick forest and it is about 30 hactres. One has to go to Phura first and only 4 WD drive vehicles are recommended to reach the spot. Accommodation is available in Phura Forest Rest House at a very low price. II. SERKAWR (SAIKAO) LORRAINEVILLE
The Pioneer Missionary, Reginald Arthur Lorraine started his mission here as Lakher Pioneer Mission. There is an old bungalow which dates back to 26th September 1907. The third generation of the Lorraine Family, Rev Violet Louise Anne Mark decided to stay back in the area and married a local pastor. She's now 81 years old. III. SIAHA TLANGPUI ROAD
This is breath-taking view of the long zig zag road from Siaha Tla to Tlangpui in Siaha District. This road starts from the valley called Siaha Tla and reaches the top of the hills. One can see the over-view of Siaha Town which is breath-taking and an experience of an adventure.
IV. CASTLE OF BEINO RIVER:
A geographical wonder of rock formation looking like big castles along the river of Beino (Kolodyne). You can take speed boat from Tuidang Tlang in Lawngtlai District and sail towards the southern most tip of the State. V. VANGCHHIA - KAWT CHHUAH ROPUI
This village is located in Champhai District and as many as 171 menhirs have been discovered recently. It is about 220 km from Aizawl. This heritage site also has an ancient Exit Way which is called Kawtchhuah Ropui. Accommodation is available at private homestays developed by the Tourism Department of Mizoram. This place is declared protected by the Archeological Survey of India in 2012.
VI. HLA KUNGPUI MUAL AT KHAWBUNG (POETS' SQUARE)
For the lovers of literature, it is a must place to visit. This Poets' Square was developed by the villagers of Khawbung in 1986 in Champhai District. Monuments of the past Mizo writers and poets are erected at the interval of 10 years.
VII. BIATE VILLAGE
The cleanest village in Mizoram which has bagged Best City Award under Innovative & Best Practices in the North East Zone in the year 2018. This village is located in Champhai District.
VIII. CHAWNGTLAI VILLAGE
This village is now under the recently created District of Khawzawl. It is about 170 km from Aizawl. This village was founded by Zahau Chief, Nikuala in 1887. You can find many historical sites and artefacts in this village. Accommodation is available in Khawzawl which is about 15 minutes drive only.
IX. CHAMPHAI TOWN
This picturesque town in the east is a must place to visit for tourists as it offers a plethora of adventures from sight seeing, para gliding, river rafting and birds watching. Accommodation is easily available in Tourist Lodge, Circuit House and private hotels. Champhai and its surrounding villages are too beautiful to resist with.
X. ZOKHAWTHAR & RIH DIL
Zokhawthar is a border village, 27 km from Champhai. Next village is Rihkhawdar, Myanmar. You can cross the international border by paying a very low fee. You can also visit the most significant lake among Mizo society called RIH DIL. It was significant because ancient Mizos believed that any departed soul had to cross this lake boefore entering Pialral or Heaven. XI. PHAWNGPUI TLANG (BLUE MOUNTAIN):
It is the highest peak in Mizoram located near Sangau village in Lawngtlai District. It is 2157 metres high. There is a National Park called National Park which is about 50 square kilometre area. XII. PANGKHUA:
Pangkhua is inhabited by various tribes like Pang, Mizo, Bawm in Lawngtlai District. There are about 240 families. Menhir has been discovered recently in this village.
XIII. VANTAWNG FALLS & TUIRIHIAU
The highest cascading water falls with a height of about 750 feet. It is located near Thenzawl, 98 km from Aizawl. Tuirihiau Falls is just located nearby. You can visit these two sites from Thenzawl. Accommodation is available at Tourist Lodge in Thenzawl
XIV.TAM DIL
Located in Saitual District. It is about 5 km from Saitual. Cabins and Cottages for accommodation are available. You can do boating and explore the beautiful greens around its surroundings.
XV. REIEK TLANG
This is located in Mamit District, but it is not very far from Aizawl City. It is only 30 km from Aizawl. A visit to Reiek Hills is an exhilarating experience to kill your boredom. You can trek upto the top of the hills and the view from the top is also spectacular. Reiek village itself is one of the most cleanest villages in Mizoram. You can also explore Khuangchera Puk (Cave) nearby. Accommodation is available in Tourist Resort. XVI. TUIRIVANG FALLS
Located in Phulpui village, Aizawl District. It is a beautiful water fall, a must visit for tourist where you can relax with crystal clear water and a lush green forest around the place.
